Day 1 Arrive Colombo (Flight not included)
Arrival at the Colombo Airport. Clients will be met by our English speaking driver guide and airport staff and offer assistance. Immediate transfers to Colombo. Afternoon city tour of Colombo with visit to the Colombo fort and bazaar Areas, the old Parliamentary complex, Independence Square, Cinnamon gardens and the residential area of the Colombo.

Day 2 Colombo-Anuradhpura
After breakfast sightseeing of Negombo There after proceed to Anuradhapura en-route visiting Yapahuwa Raja Maha Viharaya.

Day 3 Anuradhpura- Habarana
After breakfast full day excursion to Anuradhapura including visiting Mihintale. Anuradhapura is Sri Lanka's ancient capital, 5th century BC - 9th century AD and the center of the island's Buddhist civilization. In antiquity and the interest, it is the equal of any ancient 'buried city'. The island's oldest Buddhist shrines - some dating back to 3rd century BC are found here. Impressive white 'dagabas' (relic chambers) and monuments, embellished with handsome stone carvings and sculpture, the oldest documented tree on earth - The Sri Maha Bodhi (over 2000 years old), pleasure gardens, beautifully executed stone baths and ponds, a superb irrigation system of reservoirs and canals are the attractions of Anuradhapura.

Day 4 Habarana
After breakfast excursion to Sigiriya. The 5th century 600ft Rock Fortress of Sigiriya built King Kasayapa. This World Heritage site, a spectacular Rock Fortress, is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions. The most impressive facets of the unique complex are the Water Gardens, the Frescoes of beautiful maidens, the Mirror Wall with ancient graffiti, the Lion platform and the Summit of 1.6 hectares, which was completely covered by buildings during the period of Sigiriya’s glory.
Afternoon excursion to ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa rose to fame as the capital after the decline of Anuradhapura. Its period of greatness was from the 10th - 12th centuries AD. The entire landscape of the region is punctuated by huge man-made reservoirs, veritable inland seas the most famous of which is the Parakrama Samudra or the Sea of Parakrama, larger in size than the Colombo harbor. The monuments of this medieval city are relatively well preserved and give clear evidence of the glory of Sri Lanka’s past. See the Royal Palace complex, the Quadrangle with its concentration of ancient heritage and the spectacular Gal Vihare complex of four massive images of the Buddha, cut from a single slab of granite - a highlight of ancient Sri Lankan rock carving.

Day 5 Habarana
After breakfast excursion to Ritigala Temple. A beautifully paved footpath, several elevated platforms, ruins of an old ospitaland remains of a terraced pond are what is unearthed at this 180 BC Buddhist monastery at the foothill of 600m high Ritigala Rock. Dating back to around 350 B.Cis one of the oldest historical places mentioned in the ancient chronicles.

Day 6 Habarana - Kandy
After breakfast proceed to Kandy en route visiting the Cave Temples in Dambulla en route a UNESCO world heritage site. Dating back to the 1st century BC, this complex of 5 caves was used as refuge by an ancient king who on regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images within the living rock. Later kings made further improvements and most of the paintings are from the early 19th century.
Thereafter proceed to Kandy.This lovely city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth" and the Royal Botanical gardens home to one of the best collections of Orchids. Kandy and its satellite villages are the centre of the islands handicraft industry and its traditional dances are the most spectacular in the country.
Late evening visit Temple of Tooth and also witness a Cultural Performance.

Day 7 Kandy
After breakfast visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage in time to witness the bottle Feeding / bathing of Elephants. Afternoon more Sightseeing of Kandy including a visit to the Art’s and Craft Workshops, Batik Manufacturers to see simple village girls at the complicated task of manufacturing handmade batiks and Bazaar areas. And also visit Botanical gardens in Peradeniya.

Day 8 Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast transfer to Train station. From Kandy to Nanu Oya by By train on First class. This is very scenic journey through Tea Plantations and Villages. On arrival in Nanu Oya station transfer to Nuwara Eliya by vehicle en route visiting Tea planation and Tea factory. Snacks will be served on board. Nuwara Eliya is the heart of Sri Lankan hill country. It is the home of the famous Ceylon Tea and the rolling mountains are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls. Day 9 Nuwara Eliya
After Early breakfast excursion to Horton Plains for an easy 2 – 3 hour trek to ‘World’s End’ and the beautiful bridal veil ‘Bakers Falls’. Sri Lanka's highest plateau 7200 ft above sea level in the central mountain country. This ‘Fen” is a very scenic region with an astounding variety of scenery from mountains to grasslands, from marshes to trout streams. Sri Lanka's best-flavored high grown teas are grown in the surrounding areas. Spectacular view from 'Worlds End' where the plateau plunges a thousand feet in a straight sheer drop. Cool and bracing climate, excellent for trout fishing and very good hiking country. Distinctive flora (many English field flowers grow on the plains) colourful butterflies and many rare highland birds.
